Thank goodness I have finally found a specimen of a Stubble Quail that is slower than me.

I've probably seen this bird many times but without being able to adequately identify it.

The reason for this is that I can never tell which quail I've flushed, and I've flushed many. They'd just be quail posteriors rapidly retreating into the distance with a noisy and uneven flight.

Now I'm sure that experienced and skilled birders would be able to identify the species of quail from such a view, but that description doesn't include me and I'm grateful to this bird for sticking around long enough for me to get a decent view of it and even get the camera on it.
